Nero "suite" software included. Easy install. Excellent price. Bought this to replace my cd drive that died in my Dell XPS 400. Performs as advertised.
When my previous cd writer/reader went bad I was looking for a product with a decent proper tag, also had to be easy to instal in my old computer, so far this item has covered my expectations, plus the quality and speed is ok if you need it just for listening music and/or burning cds.
I purchased this item on August 27, 2006, today, February 2, 2007 it died.
I've been able to patch together a "work around" this problem however. One other problem is that the drive model is new enough that some other software does not support it, for example, Comcast Rhapsody does is not compatible with this drive. So far I'm quite pleased with the performance of the Memorex CDRW drive. I've had some trouble with the supporting software (Nero) but I'll probably be able to work it out.
Still, I don't think a novice would have a problem with the instructions. This is a high quality burner which replaced a 7+ old HP that finally went out on me. I'm very happy with the purchase. The Nero burner software is very simple to use & has other programs like for digital picture storage, even one where you can edit mp3 tracks. I love the fact that it came with a black & a beige faceplate to match the color of my CPU. It was very easy to install if you are experienced w/ computer installations.
